The ideal window
Late April through October is prime season: dry pavement, surface temperatures comfortably above 50°F and low overnight humidity. Spring is the most popular slot because it repairs plow damage from the winter.
Shoulder-season striping
November and early April both work as long as pavement is dry and daytime temperatures stay above 50°F with enough daylight for the paint to cure before evening dew.
Winter options
Deep winter exterior striping is unreliable, but warehouse and factory floor striping is a perfect winter project — interior temperatures are controlled year-round.
Sealcoat first, always
If the lot is getting sealcoated, striping goes down after the sealer cures, usually 24–48 hours later. Painting first wastes the paint entirely.
