Notify tenants and post signs
Give 48–72 hours of notice by email and post signs at entrances with the date and hours. For apartment complexes, note which sections are closed on which night.
Clear the pavement
Vehicles, dumpsters, trailers and pallets need to be off the sections being striped. We can work around obstacles, but paint can't go where a tire is.
- Confirm overnight vehicle removal with tenants
- Move dumpsters and delivery pallets the day before
- Turn off irrigation that sprays the lot
- Have lot lighting on for overnight work
Sweeping and weather
We blow the line paths clean before painting, but a swept lot always produces better adhesion. Pavement must be dry, so a rainy forecast means we'll call to reschedule — usually the next dry night.
After we paint
Leave cones in place until the crew or the next morning's walkthrough removes them. Driving on green paint smears lines and tracks paint through the whole lot.
